Sep 25, 2023

Dr. Laura Sicola is a speaker, coach and leadership communication expert who helps people hone their Vocal Executive Presence (VEP) and communication skills to project a strong, positive leadership image, develop loyal, effective teams, and create their ideal workplace culture to reach their ultimate goals.

Laura believes that your technical expertise only gets you so far; after that, your success is a direct result of how effectively you can COMMUNICATE that expertise to others who do NOT have your skills and knowledge. Laura has worked with everyone from executives and aspiring execs at companies like IBM, Comcast and the US Department of Commerce, to executive directors at non-profits, groups of entrepreneurs and women's/diversity initiatives.

In episode 395 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out why Laura chose American University for her undergraduate experience, why she decided to focus on Educational Linguistics in her Doctorate program, how college students can navigate conflict in their organization without having conflict turn into combat, what is Vocal Executive Presence and how would that help college students, how you can command the room, how you can connect with other students on campus, how you can close the deal on a job or internship with a business owner or business leader, what separates a good TEDx talk from a n amazing TEDx talk, and what her podcast called "Speaking to Influence: Communication Secrets of the C-Suite" is all about. Enjoy!
