Dr. Betsy Holmberg ran the global behavioral health service line at McKinsey & Company, a premier consulting firm, where she ranked in the top 5% of all consultants. In her previous incarnation as an academic, she worked at Harvard and co-authored several peer-reviewed academic journal articles on non-suicidal self injury and suicidal thoughts. She is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies, and has treated clients of all ages and presentations. Betsy received her doctorate in Psychology from Duke University, where she also graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

In episode 322 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out why Betsy decided on Duke for her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees, what she discovered in her research at Harvard on self-injury and suicide, what she did in the mental health service line at McKinsey & Co., how the default mode network brain system could enforce hazing of newcomers in organizations, why we fall for fake news and conspiracy theories, how the tribal brain is to blame for anti-semitism, how the solution could be to hack our own brain, how we should be using social media if it's threatening our democracy, and steps I can take as a business owner to boost employee energy, confidence, and risk-taking. Enjoy!
